A meet & greet is a free 30-minute introductory visit where we come to your home to meet you and your dog. It gives your pup a chance to warm up to us in a familiar environment, and it gives us a chance to learn everything we need to know to provide great care. It's completely free and there's no obligation.
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to ensure availability. For regular recurring walks, we can set up a standing schedule so you never have to worry about booking each week. For last-minute requests, reach out - we'll do our best to accommodate!

🦮About Our Walks

Absolutely. We welcome dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes. During the meet & greet, we'll discuss your dog's individual needs - whether they're a tiny chihuahua or a giant Great Dane, we've got them covered.
None! All our walks are individual and dedicated to your pups.
We strive to have the same 2-3 walkers on a consistent basis, and most of our recurring clients have the same walker every week. We believe this builds trust and a real, comfortable relationship. We believe that familiarity makes every walk better for your pup.
We vary routes to keep walks fresh and interesting for your dog. We know all the best trails, parks, and paths in and around Mt. Pleasant. We'll always pick routes that are safe and appropriate for your dog.
No! Lowcountry Dog Walkers will review and assess each dog during the meet & greet and can supply our own leashes and harnesses as needed. We also provide waste removal bags and treats (with permission).
Many of our clients have leash-reactive dogs, and we have experience managing them safely. Please be upfront with us about any reactivity during the meet & greet so we can plan the right approach, choose appropriate routes, and determine whether a solo walk is the best option.

🛡️Safety & Emergencies

Yes! Lowcountry Dog Walkers is fully insured and bonded through Business Insurers of the Carolinas. You can walk your dog with us (or let us walk them) with complete peace of mind.
Absolutely. All walkers undergo thorough background checks before they're ever trusted with a client's dog or home.
Your dog's safety is our #1 priority. All walkers are trained in pet first aid and CPR. In the event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately and, if necessary, transport your dog to the nearest veterinary clinic. We'll always have your vet's contact information on file.
We closely monitor weather conditions before and during every walk. For light rain, we still walk - many dogs love it! For extreme heat, we may shorten walks or adjust the time of day. For severe weather such as thunderstorms, lightning, or hurricanes, we will contact you to reschedule or modify the walk for everyone's safety.

💳Payment & Policies

Invoices are sent bi-weekly and we accept all major credit cards, Venmo, Zelle, and Debit/ACH transfers via our Mobile Application. You can also set up automatic payments for recurring clients.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled walk may be subject to a 50% charge. We understand that life happens, so we try to be as flexible as possible.
We prefer to use a lockbox (key safe) mounted near your entrance, which keeps your original keys secure while giving us access when needed. We can also discuss digital lock codes or garage codes depending on your setup. We never make copies of keys.
Yes! After every walk, you'll receive a report card with a photo and summary of how the walk went - including your dog's mood, bathroom activity, and anything else worth noting. We know you miss them while you're away, so we keep you in the loop.
